CHRISTMAS - Beginners Ceramics Creative Craft Class

Participants of the course will make up to 8 keep sake Christmas Decorations, buttons or pieces to make into jewellery or variety of each . Natalie from Upsydaisy Craft will show the class simple and more complex pottery techniques to create pattern and texture using a vast variety of cutters and stamps which she will provide (everything from flowers, hearts and dinosaurs to letters, clouds and houses).

As the pieces dry Natalie will demonstrate glazing and bring along examples of the colours for the class to glaze their own pieces. The finished items will be loaded into individual boxes and taken away to be fired in the kiln and will be ready for collection at the shop approx. 2 weeks later – you will receive email confirmation and finished pieces can be posted out (this can be arranged in the class)

Natalie will bring examples of what can be made, please feel free to bring along any stamps/textures you want to try in the clay, any ideas or sketches you may have. Or just come along and see what creativity inspires you on the night!

No previous experience required, lots of fun to be had playing with clay – recommended to bring an apron but the clay doesn’t stain.

Participants of the course will make one large plant pot (13cm diameter) or two smaller plant pots – all approx. 10cm in height. Natalie from Upsydaisy Craft will demonstrate coil building, pinch pot and slab building techniques for the participant to choose what they prefer. The clay will be provided along with a variety of stamps and shapes to create interest and detail and personalised each pot. Each participant will be able to decorate with underglaze colours and the pots will be dried slowly to prevent cracks before they are glazed with a transparent gloss fired and be ready for collection at the Malt Cross approx. 2 weeks later – you will receive email confirmation and finished pieces can be posted out (this can be arranged in the class)

WORKSHOP - Ceramic Jewellery - Sew in the City, Sheffield

Workshop - £35

Come along to our workshop where I will teach you how to create ceramic items of your design and guide you through making a selection of ceramic jewellery pieces, these will be taken away to be fired in my little kiln at home and returned on chains/brooch/earring backs in about a week. Approx. 1 necklace, 2 brooches and 2 pairs of earrings (or a combination)

WORKSHOP - Our Handmade Collective - Leeds

Beginners Ceramics Creative Craft Class

Participants of the course will make up to 8 keep sake hanging decorations (Christmas Decorations too), buttons or pieces to make into jewellery or variety of each . Natalie from Upsydaisy Craft will show the class simple and more complex pottery techniques to create pattern and texture using a vast variety of cutters and stamps which she will provide (everything from flowers, hearts and dinosaurs to letters, clouds and houses).

As the pieces dry Natalie will demonstrate glazing and bring along examples of the colours for the class to glaze their own pieces. The finished items will be loaded into individual boxes and taken away to be fired in the kiln and will be ready for collection at the shop approx. 2 weeks later – you will receive email confirmation and finished pieces can be posted out (this can be arranged in the class)

Natalie will bring examples of what can be made, please feel free to bring along any stamps/textures you want to try in the clay, any ideas or sketches you may have. Or just come along and see what creativity inspires you on the night!

No previous experience required, lots of fun to be had playing with clay – recommended to bring an apron but the clay doesn’t stain.

All materials and equipment provided. Suitable for adults and responsible children.

Cost £30.00 per person.

Craft Jam - Millenium Gallery Sheffield

Join the Millenium Gallery and lots of local crafts people for an evening of live music and craft activities – grab a beer, enjoy music curated by The Folk Forest, and get crafty.

You’ll have the chance to learn new skills, watch demonstrations and get creative!

I will be there showing you how to make small handmade pinch pots ideal for cacti from air drying clay that you can take away with you - to paint at home! I will also have a stall selling my crafty wares. 

Such an amazing event! 7-10.30 - suggested donation £3 

Participant in lots of crafts either for free or a small charge to cover materials
